Pan-Am Games Pools and Schedule

The groups for the Pan-Am Games have been made official according to a posting by the Brasil Rugby Union. The U.S. will be in group A with Brazil, Chile, and Canada. The 7's Eagles should have no trouble advancing out of the group with only Canada providing a tough test.

At first glance they may seem unlucky to end up in the same pool as Canada and not in the easier pool B, but as long as the U.S. and Argentina finish first in their respective groups the Eagles should have a clear routh to the Gold Medal match.

Also, all the matches will be available on ESPN3.com.

I got a reply from ESPN regarding coverage. ESPN Deportes/ESPN3.com may offer some coverage, but your article makes it seem like they are giving rugby full coverage, which is simply not the case.

Terra.com will offer full coverage.

Oh, and everyone makes it past the group. This is not set up like the HSBC Sevens. Everyone goes from the group stage to the knockout stage with a chance to medal. The Group stage simply sets up knockout round seeding.

Thanks for the update. I got most of this information from non-English language sources before most media outlets in the U.S. had it.
